Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey" is smashing box office records at a relentless pace, with the 10-million-admission milestone now within reach.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, "Odyssey" surpassed 9 million cumulative admissions around 6 p.m. Monday — its 27th day in release. The film crossed the 8 million mark Friday, reaching the latest milestone in just three days.

"Odyssey" is the first foreign film to reach 9 million admissions in South Korea since "Avatar: The Way of Water" in 2022 — and it got there three days faster, as that film hit the mark on its 30th day.

The film has also surpassed the final admission tallies of the top-grossing foreign releases of each of the past three years: "Elemental" (about 7.24 million in 2023), "Inside Out 2" (about 8.79 million in 2024) and "Zootopia 2" (about 8.61 million in 2025), making "Odyssey" the highest-grossing foreign film released in South Korea over that three-year span.

Now in its fifth week, "Odyssey" shows no signs of slowing down. Attention is turning to whether it can become Nolan's second 10-million-admission film in South Korea, following "Interstellar."

"Odyssey" is a blockbuster based on Homer's ancient epic poem. The film follows the hero Odysseus — who led the Greeks to victory in the Trojan War — on his decade-long journey home to Ithaca as he overcomes a series of trials set by the gods.
