'BUSAN BabyRun Club' held at Bukhang Waterfront Park
Event features stroller running, children's dance performances and charity donation drive
The Busan Tourism Organization held a family-oriented running program, "BUSAN BabyRun Club," at Bukhang Waterfront Park in Busan on Sunday, the organization announced Monday.
The program is designed for children and babies in strollers to run alongside their parents against the backdrop of Busan's coastal scenery, creating family memories through a fun, low-key running experience.
Thirty families recruited in advance through Visit Busan took part in the event, enjoying stroller running, performances and hands-on activities along the North Port waterfront.
About 100 participants stretched together before setting off on a stroller run through the park. The run was followed by a bubble-and-balloon performance and a children's dance program.
Designed as a "fun run" rather than a competitive or timed race, the program let parents and children take in Busan's scenery at their own pace. Organizers tied the event to the North Port's open waterfront space and the recent running trend to offer a leisure and tourism experience unique to Busan.
"Through this program, we introduced a new family tourism image — Busan as a city great for running, a city where you can run with your children — and confirmed the potential for expanding running-based tourism content," an organization official said.
