Construction cost about 53.9 billion won; ground-breaking targeted for 2028

Shindonga Construction has secured the contract for the Pungnap Gangbyeon Hyundai street-block housing redevelopment project in Pungnap-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

The company said Monday it was selected as the contractor after winning about 90 percent of votes at a general meeting of association members held Friday to choose a builder.

The project calls for constructing two residential buildings — ranging from two below-ground floors to 20 above-ground floors — with 133 units and ancillary welfare facilities on a 5,165-square-meter site at 402 Hangaram-ro in Songpa-gu. The construction cost is about 53.9 billion won ($39.2 million), with a ground-breaking targeted for 2028.

Shindonga Construction plans to strengthen its housing brand Familier by applying premium finishing materials, a distinctive exterior design and unit-level customization.

"Our commitment to swift and transparent project execution, combined with our brand premium proposal, earned strong trust from association members," a company official said. "We will meet their expectations by building a complex with views of the Han River."

The contract follows Shindonga Construction's earlier wins on the Yongsan headquarters development and the Capital Defense Command public housing project in Dongjak-gu. The company plans to expand its Familier brand, focusing on residential projects along the Han River.

In June, the company also won a street-block housing redevelopment contract in Bisan-dong, Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.
