An outdoor music festival set against the autumn breeze is about to open.

The 2026 Pyeonghwanuri Picnic Festival, organized by Gyeonggi Province and hosted by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, runs three days from Sept. 18 to 20 at the Pyeonghwanuri Grass Field in Imjingak, Paju. This year's edition offers a diverse lineup, an improved viewing environment and a range of side events.

Held near Pyeonghwanuri Campground, the festival is designed as a picnic-style event where visitors can spread out blankets and enjoy live performances in the same space. A variety of hands-on programs will also be available, making it a strong option for a family weekend outing.

The main concert takes place Saturday. Rock band Nell headlines, joined by 10CM, Sunwoo Jung-a, Nerd Connection, Seodo Band and rock band The Fix. A special "Peace Stage" — reflecting the festival's theme of peace — will feature musical actor Min Woo-hyuk in a performance evoking the spirit of peace in Gyeonggi Province's demilitarized zone.

This year's festival incorporates feedback from last year's attendees to improve the overall experience. In addition to a free-seating "Picnic Zone" where visitors can lay out blankets at will, a new designated "Special Zone" in front of the stage offers reserved seating, letting concertgoers enjoy performances without long waits.

Beyond the concerts, the festival will offer peace-themed activities — including a pinwheel-making workshop and temporary tattoo experiences — as well as busking performances and yoga sessions tied to the adjacent campground. At the nearby Supulnuri area, the Gyeonggi Food Festa 2026 will run concurrently, combining cooking competitions, hands-on activities and startup and career counseling booths to blend music with food. Tickets for Saturday's concert are available through the official ticketing platform Ticketlink.
