Starfield Hanam, which opened in 2016, will mark its 10th anniversary on Sept. 9.

Shinsegae Property said Monday the shopping complex has welcomed a cumulative 250 million visitors over the decade. One in 10 paying customers visited 40 or more times during that period.

Starfield has positioned itself as a weekend destination for families in their 30s and 40s with children, drawing them with differentiated family-oriented content. As of this month, the complex averaged 50,000 visitors on weekdays and 100,000 on weekends, with roughly 70 percent in the 30-to-40 age bracket.

Pop-up stores remain a major draw. Starfield Hanam hosted more than 380 pop-ups last year alone. A customer survey last year found that 63 percent of visitors in their 30s and 40s with infants or elementary-school-age children came specifically to experience pop-up stores.

A pet-friendly policy has also paid off. A pet stroller rental service introduced in 2022 logged about 140,000 cumulative rentals through July. Monthly rentals grew roughly 4.7 times — from about 700 in June 2022, the service's first month, to about 3,300 in July.

Starfield Hanam is expanding its brand lineup across categories spanning automobiles, fashion, lifestyle and food and beverage. The automotive offering covers domestic automakers, imports, electric vehicles and sports cars. British ultra-luxury brand Aston Martin will open its first pop-up store at any Starfield location on Tuesday, showcasing flagship models from its high-performance S lineup, including the Vantage S and DB12 S.

On the fashion front, Ralph Lauren's premium vintage wear label RRL and global lifestyle brand Diesel will open their first mall locations at Starfield Hanam in October and November, respectively. Global outdoor casual brand Gramicci, distributed by Worksout, and Musinsa's private-label brand Musinsa Standard are also set to open before the end of the year.

Anniversary events run through Sept. 13. Programming includes K-Pet Fair in Starfield, organized with Gyeonggi Province, which gathers 15 popular pet brands under one roof; Petbly Town, a pet-friendly walking and activity zone; and a lineup of magic shows and celebratory performances.

"We will continue to introduce new spaces and content, growing into a lifestyle hub that enriches our customers' everyday lives and weekends," a Shinsegae Property official said.
