The Busan Economic Promotion Agency announced Tuesday it is accepting applications through Sept. 8 from companies wishing to join its "2026 Busan Economic Revitalization Support Fund Individual Export Support Project for Overseas Trade Mission Companies," a program designed to help Busan-based manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises enter overseas markets.
The project is funded through the Busan Economic Revitalization Support Fund (BEF), a pool jointly established by nine public institutions in the Busan area to strengthen the export competitiveness of local SMEs. This year, five manufacturing SMEs based in Busan will be selected, with each receiving up to 6 million won ($4,350) to cover individual export activity costs.
Support is divided into two tracks based on each company's stage of export readiness: Track 1 (export preparation) and Track 2 (export in progress). Assistance is tailored to the specific export activities each company requires.
Track 1 covers pre-entry activities for breaking into overseas markets, including export consulting, translation and interpretation, overseas promotion and marketing, packaging design and promotional material production, overseas certification, patent and testing services, exhibition and trade fair participation, and overseas market research and buyer outreach.
Track 2 covers costs that arise during the actual export process: local travel expenses for closing export contracts, domestic and overseas warehousing fees, and international shipping costs.
Eligible applicants are export-oriented manufacturing SMEs based in Busan, which may choose the support track that best fits their export plans and stage of progress. From Tuesday through Sept. 8, interested companies should refer to the public notice posted on the Busan Economic Promotion Agency's website and submit the required documents — including an application form and business plan — by email to pgr@bepa.kr.
