Standing commissioner Ko Min-su has been elected inaugural vice chair of the Korea Communications Commission.
The Korea Communications Commission held its 29th plenary session of 2026 on Friday morning and elected Ko to the post.
His term runs from Friday through March 31, 2029, when his appointment expires.
"Drawing on my diverse experience and expertise, I will work to advance the broadcasting, media and communications sector and do my utmost to protect the rights and interests of the public," Ko said.
Ko is a law professor at Kangwon National University and joined the commission in March on a National Assembly nomination. He graduated from Yonsei University's School of Law and previously worked at JTV Jeonju Broadcasting's news bureau and the secretariat of the Korea Broadcasting Commission.
He has also served as a member of the Korea Communications Commission's expert committee on broadcasting advertising industry promotion, vice president of the Korean Society for Media Law, and vice president of the Korean Constitutional Law Association.
