Star Truck Korea, the official importer of Mercedes-Benz trucks, is launching a summer vehicle maintenance campaign to help operators prepare for long-haul driving and high-temperature conditions. The initiative aims to strengthen preventive inspections and parts management, given that unexpected breakdowns in commercial vehicles can immediately translate into lost operating time and revenue.
Star Truck Korea said it will run the "2026 Summer Vehicle Care Campaign" from Wednesday through Aug. 31 at 19 official Mercedes-Benz truck service centers across the country.
The campaign covers all Mercedes-Benz truck models. Customers can receive free vehicle inspections at official service centers and are eligible for discounts of up to 20% on individual items across 177 parts categories, encompassing 1,968 parts in total.
The free inspection checklist focuses on components directly tied to safe summer driving — including the engine, transmission and other key drivetrain parts, the cooling system, belts, brakes and air systems, steering and suspension, wipers, and rear cameras.
After the inspection, customers can proceed with repairs or parts replacements in a single visit using campaign-eligible parts. Given that freight trucks typically log heavy mileage, the campaign is designed to catch early warning signs and reduce the risk of mid-route breakdowns.
The discount lineup is broadly drawn around parts with the highest real-world maintenance demand. Cooling system and transmission-related parts are discounted by up to 20% depending on the item. Radiators, condensers, engine parts, wiper blades, V-belts, belt tensioners, steering components, air spring bellows and brake hoses are eligible for discounts of up to 15%.
Brake pads also qualify for up to 15% off. Key consumables — including brake discs, air dryers, various filters and batteries — as well as functional components such as SCR parts, power steering pumps, shock absorbers and brake calipers, are discounted by up to 10%.
Collision and exterior parts are included as well. Bumpers, doors, windshields, exterior mirrors, headlamps, exhaust-related parts, control units, sensors and interior equipment are all covered under the campaign.
Additional perks are also on offer. The first 400 customers who follow the official Mercedes-Benz Trucks KakaoTalk channel and spend 500,000 won ($335) or more on campaign-eligible parts will receive a complimentary supply of Lotte Fine Chemical's Eurox, an original-equipment-grade diesel exhaust fluid.
A price freeze on engine oil change packages will continue as well. Star Truck Korea announced in June that, despite rising raw materials and consumables costs, it would offer engine oil change packages at existing promotional prices for a limited run of 1,500 vehicles. Prices may be adjusted once that supply is exhausted.
After-sales service has become an increasingly important competitive front in the commercial vehicle industry, alongside vehicle sales. On the logistics floor, a single truck's uptime is directly tied to profitability, making service accessibility, parts supply and preventive maintenance key factors in brand selection.
"In commercial vehicles, stable operation is directly linked to a customer's business competitiveness, which makes inspecting and managing vehicle condition before a breakdown occurs more important than anything else," said Dong Geun-tae, chief executive of Star Truck Korea. "We hope this campaign provides real, practical help in reducing the risk of sudden breakdowns and service interruptions caused by summer heat and long-distance driving, and in easing the maintenance burden on our customers."
