Pyeongjeong Law Firm has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hwaseongri Tianjin Law Office, a Chinese law firm, to cooperate on Korea-China legal services.

Pyeongjeong said the MOU, signed in Tianjin, China, on July 3, was designed to more systematically address the legal needs of companies and individuals conducting business between South Korea and China.

Under the agreement, the two firms will work within the bounds permitted by the laws and regulations of both South Korea and China to expand opportunities for legal service cooperation and build a framework for collaboration in practical areas including China-related legal advice, contracts and dispute resolution.

Pyeongjeong Law Firm said it plans to use the agreement as a springboard to broaden its cooperative foundation across a range of China-related fields, including corporate legal affairs, investment and transaction structure reviews, contract reviews and dispute resolution.

The MOU runs for approximately one year, through July 2, 2027.

"Legal matters involving China often require consideration of both local Chinese law and domestic Korean legal practice," a Pyeongjeong official said. "Through this agreement, we will broaden our cooperative foundation so that clients can receive more reliable legal support on China-related issues."
