Yongsan Welfare Foundation 10th anniversary ceremony

Yongsan-gu District Mayor Kim Gyeong-dae attended the Yongsan Welfare Foundation's 10th anniversary ceremony Tuesday at the main conference hall of the Baekbeom Kim Gu Memorial Hall in Seoul, celebrating the foundation's contributions to expanding a culture of sharing and improving welfare in the district and offering words of encouragement to those involved.

About 140 people attended, including District Mayor Kim, foundation board chairman Seung Man-ho and donors.

The ceremony began at 4 p.m. and proceeded in the following order: opening remarks, a congratulatory performance, introduction of guests, a welcoming address by the foundation chairman, congratulatory speeches including one by the district mayor, a ceremonial rice-cake cutting, a 10th anniversary video screening, a 10-year achievements report, presentation of appreciation plaques and a commemorative group photo.

The anniversary video was produced in collaboration with the Yongsan-gu Office's public relations division. The achievements report highlighted key fundraising and grant distribution figures. Appreciation plaques were presented to six individuals and organizations recognized for major or long-term donations.

In his congratulatory remarks, Kim said, "I sincerely congratulate the welfare foundation on its 10th anniversary — it has been a steadfast welfare pillar for our Yongsan-gu." He added, "I extend my deepest gratitude to the foundation chairman for organizing this meaningful occasion, to the foundation staff who dedicate themselves on the ground every day, and to the donors who have practiced the warmth of giving."

Kim added, "Going forward, Yongsan-gu will always listen closely to voices from the field and provide solid support so that the welfare foundation can continue to be a beacon of hope right beside our neighbors."

The foundation has led efforts to build a comprehensive welfare network in the district through a range of programs, including the Yongsan-type emergency welfare support initiative and a kimchi-sharing event for neighbors in need.
