Actor Yoon Kyung-ho has begun his 13-hour vow of silence — a campaign pledge tied to the ratings of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama series "Agent Kim Reactivated."

Yoon posted a video to his social media Monday morning with the message: "Monday, July 13 — I began my vow of silence at 7 a.m.!"

In the video, he recited an oath before starting: "I, Yoon Kyung-ho, with a grateful heart and in accordance with my conscience, without a single lie, swear to faithfully carry out this practice at every moment — including personal spaces such as the shower and restroom where a camera cannot follow."

He then pressed a timer set to 13 hours, officially beginning the silence.

Yoon made the pledge at the press conference for "Agent Kim Reactivated," saying, "Breaking 10 percent would already be a hit, but since So Ji-sub is making his comeback to SBS after 13 years, I'll do 13 hours of silent meditation if we clear 13 percent." The series crossed into double-digit ratings within its first two episodes.

"Agent Kim Reactivated" is a revenge action drama about the world's most ordinary father who becomes the world's most dangerous man to get his only daughter back. Yoon plays Park Jin-cheol, a volunteer with a Marine veterans' association and a longtime friend of Agent Kim (played by So Ji-sub).

The series premiered June 26 with a 9.5 percent rating, then climbed to 15.7 percent in its second episode, 18.8 percent in its third, 21.6 percent in its fourth, 20.5 percent in its fifth and 22.3 percent in its sixth — setting a new series high in just six episodes.

Yoon is also scheduled to appear on SBS Power FM's "Two O'Clock Escape Cultwo Show" while maintaining his vow of silence Monday. A fan signing event conducted entirely in silence is also planned after the radio appearance.
