KB Kookmin Bank announced Monday that it is offering a value-added tax estimate lookup and self-filing service for sole proprietors ahead of the VAT filing season.

The service was developed through a partnership with Easyshop, a tax platform. Sole proprietors using the KB Star Business Banking app can check their estimated VAT liability in advance, have the required filing documents organized automatically and then file directly through the Hometax system.

With the addition of VAT filing support, Kookmin Bank has expanded its tax services for sole proprietors, building on a tax refund service it introduced in March and a comprehensive income tax estimate comparison service it launched in May.

To mark the launch, the bank is running a promotional event through July 24. Customers who enter the event through KB Star Business Banking and complete the VAT estimate lookup will receive a 3,000-won CU mobile gift voucher, while those who also complete the self-filing process will receive a 10,000-won ($7) CU mobile gift voucher.

"We will continue to introduce everyday services that provide real convenience for sole proprietors," a Kookmin Bank official said.
