Two high school students took home the top prize at the 32nd National Computerized Accounting Competition, held Saturday at Gyeongnam National University in Changwon, the Korea Computerized Accounting Education Research Association announced Monday.

Co-organized by the association and Gyeongnam National University and sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and ICT, among others, the competition drew 764 participants — including high school and university students as well as members of the general public — who tested their practical accounting skills.

The Education Ministry minister's award, the competition's top honor, went to Park Han-sol of Haeyeon Girls' High School in the corporate accounting practice level-2 category and Kim Min-seo of Gimhae Hanil Girls' High School in the tax accounting practice level-2 category.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy minister's award went to Hwang Yu-bin of Yeungjin University and Kim Bo-min of Hanil Girls' High School, while the Ministry of SMEs and Startups minister's award went to Park Se-mi of Yeungjin University and Song Su-hwan of Busan Computer Science High School.

The National Tax Service commissioner's award went to Kim Jun-ho of Gwangju University, Kim Na-ye of Gimhae Hanil Girls' High School, and Song Na-young and Lee Gyeong-min of Seowon University.

Educators and contributors were also recognized. Hyeon Yeo-ri, a teacher at Gimhae Hanil Girls' High School, and Kim Tae-wan, a professor at Gyeongnam National University, each received an Education Ministry minister's commendation for contributions to nurturing talent and running the competition.

Son Gyu-hyeon, chief executive of Gwangtae Industry Co., received the Ministry of Science and ICT minister's award for contributions to scholarship programs, while Baek Gyeong-su, chief executive of Rashvan Korea Co., received a National Tax Service commissioner's merit award for supporting the competition.

Kim Seung-hyeon, chairman of the Korea Computerized Accounting Education Research Association, said the organization would work to make the competition one that raises the practical skills of accounting students and cultivates outstanding professionals.
