Genesis runs 'Box Buggy' concept on course

Genesis announced Monday that the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open concluded successfully after a four-day run at Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.

A field of 156 players from the DP World Tour, PGA Tour and KPGA Korean Tour competed for the title, drawing 91,128 spectators over four days.

Kim Ju-hyung claimed victory with a final total of 17-under-par 263, earning $1,575,000 in prize money along with a Genesis GV60 Magma as a bonus prize. Lee Min-woo of Australia finished second at 15-under-par 265. The win was Kim's fourth PGA Tour victory; he had finished third at the same event in 2022.

"It is very meaningful to be the first Korean player to win the Genesis Scottish Open," Kim said. "Genesis is a wonderful sponsor that takes great care not only of the players but also of their families, and I hope to win more tournaments that Genesis sponsors in the future."

Genesis displayed 14 vehicles during the tournament to promote its brand, including the GV60 Magma, a 1:2-scale model of the GMR-001 hypercar and the GV70 electrification model. The company also provided 135 vehicles to support tournament operations.

At the Genesis Public Lounge near the 15th hole, visitors could browse a Genesis golf collection exhibition and try an experience program linked to a golf simulator (TGL).

Genesis also debuted the Box Buggy concept, first unveiled at last month's 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The Box Buggy is a next-generation short-distance mobility vehicle with four independent drive motors and a four-wheel steering system, designed for high maneuverability in confined spaces such as golf courses and race circuits.

The exterior pairs Genesis' signature two-line headlamps with an Atlantic Blue matte finish for a modern aesthetic, while the interior combines a 2+2 seat layout with beige tones, aluminum accents and tartan-patterned fabric — reflecting Genesis' "host" philosophy.

Genesis has consistently broadened its presence in culture and sports, supporting domestic men's golf since launching a KPGA Tour points title sponsorship in 2016 and serving as an official sponsor of the Busan International Film Festival since 2017.
