Woori Bank announced Thursday it will offer a new savings product called "Woori Dugeundugeun Haengwun Jeokgeum," a lucky savings account, with an annual interest rate of up to 13 percent.
The product was first launched last November with a limit of 100,000 accounts and sold out by the end of March this year. Woori Bank is relaunching it with a base rate of 3 percent annually, up 0.5 percentage points from before.
Eligibility conditions remain unchanged: the contract term is six months, and customers may deposit up to 500,000 won ($331) per month at their discretion. Accounts can be opened through the Woori WON Banking app, with a limit of one account per customer.
The product offers chances to earn bonus interest through a monthly "lucky card" draw. Each customer receives one lucky card per month over the six-month contract period, for a total of five cards. Winning a draw adds 2 percentage points in annual interest per card. A customer who wins all five draws receives a cumulative bonus of 10 percentage points, bringing the total annual rate to a maximum of 13 percent.
Woori Bank also launched a separate youth savings product last month — the "Woori Youth Future Savings Account" — offering an annual rate of up to 8 percent, also with a monthly deposit cap of 500,000 won.
