A man in his 40s who went shirtless and punched police officers while causing a disturbance on a city road late at night was subdued with a Taser and arrested.

The Suwon Paldal Police Station in Gyeonggi Province arrested the man, identified only as A, on charges including obstruction of public duties, and is investigating him.

A is accused of punching responding officers on a road in Ingye-dong, Paldal-gu, Suwon, at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officers were dispatched after receiving a report that a man was wandering the road and blocking traffic. When they tried to restrain him, A stripped off his shirt and began swinging his fists.

After a prolonged struggle along the six-lane road, officers fired a Taser and took him into custody.

A rambled to police, saying "several people have been chasing me since Jochiwon" and that he was "on the run." He was not intoxicated but refused a drug test.
