Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestselling "Rich Dad Poor Dad," says bitcoin, gold and silver are nearing the end of their current downtrend and will soon rebound — and that he plans to buy when that moment arrives.
Kiyosaki wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday that one of the mistakes he repeatedly made earlier in his investing career was letting price alone drive his buy and sell decisions. "I learned to understand the context and environment surrounding an asset, not just its price," he said.
Using real estate as an example, he explained that when evaluating a property he looks not only at the price but also at local employment growth and the surrounding environment.
He said the same principle applies to gold, silver and bitcoin, and that investors should pay close attention to the political and business leaders driving the global economy.
"I look at whether world leaders are solving economic problems or making things worse," Kiyosaki said.
He added that he is watching the technical charts for gold, silver, bitcoin and ethereum, and will buy once the downtrend ends and a rebound signal appears. "The charts for gold and silver are showing signals of a major move higher," he said.
Kiyosaki has long viewed gold, silver, bitcoin and ethereum as hedges against a decline in the value of the dollar.
He cautioned, however, against investing by simply following others without independent analysis, urging investors to do their own research before committing capital.
"Smart people will get richer, and some people will do nothing," he said. "Sometimes doing nothing is the wisest choice of all."
