Event set for Saturday at Naju Youth Training Center, featuring performances, talent shows and activity booths
The city of Naju in South Jeolla Province is hosting a youth cultural festival where young residents can showcase their talents, connect with the community and celebrate their potential as the next generation.
Naju, led by Mayor Yun Byeong-tae, announced Monday that the 2nd Naju Youth Day cultural festival will be held starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Naju Youth Training Center.
Organized by the city and run by the Naju Youth Training Center, the event is designed to give young people a platform to express themselves through arts and culture while engaging with the broader community.
The festival opens with performances by the Naju City Boys and Girls Choir and the violin ensemble of Bitnuri Elementary School. The first segment features a commendation ceremony for exemplary youth and a scholarship presentation recognizing young people who have contributed to the local community.
The second segment includes a youth futsal tournament called "Together We Kick" and a children's tricycle racing competition, giving participants a chance to build teamwork and a spirit of challenge while making lasting memories.
A youth performance and talent showcase called "Dream Stage" will also take the spotlight, with local young people displaying their skills in dance, band music, singing and instrumental performance across a range of genres.
Alongside the stage programs, the festival will offer hands-on activity booths, play experiences, food stalls and community partnership programs, creating a space for youth, families and residents alike to enjoy the day together.
Kim Ho-rim, director of the Naju Youth Training Center, said organizers had prepared a wide range of programs so young people could take the lead and freely express their dreams and talents. "We hope for the enthusiastic participation of youth, families and citizens so that this can be a truly meaningful festival for everyone," he said.
Mayor Yun said he hoped the festival would give young people cherished memories and opportunities for growth. "We will continue to support the Naju Youth Training Center, which reopened this year, so that it can serve as a hub supporting the diverse activities and development of young people," he said.
