Hana Securities announced Monday it will build a youth-friendly disability employment model and expand hiring as part of its commitment to mutual growth and ESG principles.

The brokerage plans to offer a seamless, one-stop hiring process covering customized training, job placement and post-hire support. Working with the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities, the firm will provide specialized job training alongside hands-on instruction led by Hana Securities staff. Graduates of the program will be considered for positions, and those who join will receive ongoing job-adaptation check-ins and a dedicated disability affairs coordinator to help them settle in.

The employment model is designed to foster collaboration between existing employees and young workers with disabilities. It was highlighted as a key case study at a youth employment forum for financial institutions organized by the Korea Financial Investment Association.

Hana Securities piloted the model by hiring young workers with disabilities in its human resources and talent development divisions. The employees handle tasks requiring precision and concentration — including training process administration and HR data entry — and have been working productively alongside existing staff. The company plans to gradually expand disability youth hiring based on successes documented during the pilot.

"We thought hard about building a sustainable, mutually beneficial ESG employment model where young people with disabilities and existing employees can work together," Hana Securities CEO Kang Sung-mook said. "We will work to provide suitable roles and opportunities for young people with disabilities so the company can achieve both productivity and social responsibility."

Hana Securities has been active across ESG initiatives. The firm has been pioneering the market through ESG bond forward transactions. Last year, it set goals for all employees to incorporate ESG into their daily lives and to each complete one donation and one volunteer activity, with staff consistently taking part in volunteering and giving programs.
