B2B and B2C products supplied to cafes, bakeries; Jersey Milk Cone, pudding and ice cream launched
Seoul Milk Cooperative is stepping up its push into the premium dessert market, leading with its domestic Jersey milk line. Jersey milk comes from Jersey cattle, a breed originating on the island of Jersey in the English Channel.
Seoul Milk was the first in South Korea to launch a Jersey milk product, doing so in 2018. It now produces and collects 100 percent domestic Jersey milk at the country's largest Jersey-dedicated farm.
The cooperative moved first on the B2B side. Starting in May, it began supplying franchise cafes and bakeries with a B2B-exclusive product, Jersey Milk Soft Mix (1 liter). The company cited growing demand for high-fat soft-serve ice cream mixes — those with a milk fat content of 10 percent or more — as more consumers seek premium ice cream with a rich flavor and dense, chewy texture.
Consumer-facing product launches have followed steadily. In September last year, Seoul Milk released Jersey Milk Cone, a premium ice cream made with 58 percent domestic Jersey milk and 9 percent milk fat, using Seoul Milk butter to bring out the full, nutty taste of the raw milk. The following month, it introduced Jersey Milk Pudding, which contains 83 percent domestic Jersey milk. In April, the cooperative added a large-format cup version, Jersey Milk Ice Cream (474 milliliters), made with 50 percent domestic Jersey raw milk.
