Two-day event Saturday and Sunday aims to boost Ulsan's profile as a culture and tourism city

Ulsan's flagship popular music festival is getting a new name and a new season. Rebranded from the Ulsan Summer Festival to the Ulsan Music Festival, the event will run Saturday and Sunday at the Nam-gu riverside grounds of Taehwagang National Garden.

The festival has been redesigned around a professional music festival format, with programming aimed at deepening audience engagement and strengthening Ulsan's brand as a culture and tourism destination.

On Saturday, the schedule is split between two stages suited to the character of each performance: a Garden Stage running from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. will feature popular band performances, while a River Stage from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. will showcase some of the country's top solo artists.

On Sunday, the main stage will feature a lineup of top-tier K-pop groups performing from 7 p.m.

Festival amenities will include picnic mat zones, shaded rest areas, food vendors and a luggage storage facility. Admission to Saturday's Garden Stage is free and unrestricted, while tickets for the River Stage will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 a.m. Sunday's concert has already sold out through online ticketing.

"We moved the event from August to June and changed its name to better promote Ulsan as a culture and tourism city," a city official said.
