Four-way partnership established with Korea Industrial Complex Corp. and others to launch 'K-Industrial Complex New Growth Project'
Hana Financial Group said Thursday it has signed an MOU on expanding productive finance for industrial complexes with the Korea Industrial Complex Corp., the Korea Industrial Complex Managers Federation and the Global Leading Companies Association.
The agreement is designed to build a full-cycle corporate growth support framework that promotes technology innovation and new-industry transitions among companies based in industrial complexes, and fosters regional growth engines — in line with the government's policy push toward productive finance.
The four organizations agreed to jointly advance the "K-Industrial Complex New Growth Project" (working title) to drive innovation-led growth among complex tenants and revitalize regional economies.
As a first step, they will establish the 50 billion-won (approximately $32.8 million) "Industrial Complex New Growth Fund" (working title) to expand productive finance across industrial complexes. Hana Financial plans to use a blind fund structure to provide tailored growth capital to promising tenant companies and high-quality members of industrial complex business associations, targeting new business investment, technology development and business expansion.
The partnership will also support full-cycle commercialization for tenant companies. Hana Financial will offer ESG (environmental, social and governance) management consulting, assistance with obtaining domestic and international certifications, and preferential interest rate benefits. The group also plans to participate in industrial complex open-innovation initiatives and regulatory reform efforts to deliver effective, customized solutions.
Cooperation will also expand to support regionally balanced development based on the five-pole, three-special-zone framework. The partners will strengthen mutual collaboration to revitalize industrial complexes outside the Greater Seoul area and plan to sponsor the second Korea Industrial Complex Export Fair (KICEF 2026), scheduled for September.
The group is also preparing financial support for future industrial infrastructure investment and structural upgrades to industrial complexes, and is developing investment advisory services and tailored financial products to help complexes implement manufacturing AI transformation (M.AX) and RE100 — the initiative requiring 100 percent renewable energy use.
Hana Financial has set its productive finance supply target for this year at 17.8 trillion won, an increase of 1.6 trillion won from its original plan, and is moving quickly to deploy the funds.
"We hope the K-Industrial Complex New Growth Project will serve as a firm stepping stone for Korean companies to leap onto the global stage," Hana Financial Vice Chairman Kang Sung-mook said. "We will work together to draw a brilliant future for Korea's industrial complexes through the supply of venture capital and innovation support."
