The US military said Wednesday it had launched additional strikes against Iran.

CENTCOM, which oversees American forces in the Middle East, announced on X that it had "initiated additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets inside Iran" at 5:15 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday (6:15 a.m. Korean Standard Time Thursday).

CENTCOM did not disclose the specific facilities or locations targeted. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had earlier signaled that Iran's "key facilities" would be in the crosshairs.

CENTCOM described the strikes as "a response to Iran's unjust and ongoing provocations."

The United States carried out retaliatory strikes Tuesday after an Iranian drone strike Monday downed a US Army Apache helicopter, as talks on ending the conflict remained deadlocked.

President Donald Trump told reporters he would "hit Iran again, harder" on Thursday, signaling his intent to press further military action.
