Mirae Asset Global Investments said Tuesday that net assets in its TIGER Hyundai Motor Group Plus exchange-traded fund have grown eightfold since the start of the year.

According to Korea Exchange, the fund's net assets reached 935.9 billion won (about $616 million), up more than eight times from 111.4 billion won at the end of last year. The surge has been driven by growing expectations for Hyundai Motor Group's expansion in physical AI after the group unveiled its Atlas humanoid robot at CES 2026 earlier this year. Retail investors' net purchases since the start of the year reached 377.8 billion won.

Enthusiasm has been further stoked by reports that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently met with Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung to discuss broad-based cooperation spanning autonomous driving, robotics and future manufacturing systems, and that the two shared a vision for a so-called "Saemangeum AI Valley."

The TIGER Hyundai Motor Group Plus ETF concentrates its holdings in major Hyundai Motor Group affiliates, led by Hyundai Motor (35.1%), Kia (21.7%) and Hyundai Mobis (16.3%). By weighting Hyundai Motor heavily, the fund is designed to directly capture any revaluation of the company driven by physical AI growth, while also covering the group's other key growth pillars — from humanoid robots to shipbuilding, defense, nuclear energy and power equipment.

"Hyundai Motor Group is undergoing a structural revaluation of its corporate worth, as new physical AI businesses — humanoid robots, software-defined vehicles and autonomous driving — are being layered on top of its solid core automotive earnings," said Jung Eui-hyun, head of ETF management at Mirae Asset Global Investments. "The TIGER Hyundai Motor Group Plus ETF is an investment solution that lets investors capture the full scope of that transformation in a single product."

Mirae Asset Global Investments has also seen strong demand for its recently launched single-stock leveraged ETFs. Cumulative retail net purchases of the TIGER SK Hynix Single-Stock Leverage and TIGER Samsung Electronics Single-Stock Leverage ETFs have exceeded 3 trillion won since their listing — within just seven trading days of their May 27 debut.

The TIGER US Space Tech ETF has also surpassed 2 trillion won in net assets, buoyed by retail investor anticipation ahead of a potential SpaceX listing. Since its launch at 30 billion won on April 14, the fund crossed 1 trillion won in net assets on May 19 and 2 trillion won on May 28, expanding rapidly in just over six weeks.
