Swedish premium electric vehicle brand Polestar announced Wednesday that it is rolling out a 2027 model year update for the Polestar 4, its best-selling vehicle. The updated model went on sale online starting at 3 p.m. that day.

As part of the update, Polestar has renamed the model from "Polestar 4 SUV Coupe" to "Polestar 4 Coupe" beginning with the 2027 model year. The change is aimed at more intuitively conveying the vehicle's distinctive design identity — a blend of SUV spaciousness and the dynamic silhouette of a coupe.

The trim lineup has been restructured into three tiers: Rear Motor, Dual Motor and Dual Motor Performance.

The Rear Motor and Dual Motor trims come standard with a chassis featuring a high-capacity passive damper, new springs and anti-roll bar, and a polyurethane rebound stop. Steering precision has also been improved to deliver sharper response and more refined control.

Inside, a black emblem has been added to the panoramic glass roof, and seatbelts and rotary knob inserts are differentiated by trim to enhance the premium feel. A charcoal microtech interior with zinc-color décor is also newly offered as standard.

The Rear Motor trim is priced at 66.9 million won ($44,100), unchanged from before, while the Dual Motor trim has been cut by 2 million won to 69.9 million won.

The Pilot Pack, which provides driver assistance features including Pilot Assist, continues as standard equipment on the 2027 model.

The Plus Pack is priced at 6 million won and includes a Harman Kardon premium audio system, pixel LED headlights, second-row power reclining seats and a hands-free power tailgate.

The Nappa upgrade has been adjusted from 4.5 million won to 4 million won and is available when the Plus Pack is selected.

The Performance Pack, designed to maximize the driving capability of the Polestar 4 Coupe, is priced at 6 million won and comes standard with a charcoal-color microtech interior. It also includes 22-inch Performance Pack exclusive wheels, four-piston Brembo brakes, Polestar Engineering chassis tuning, a ZF three-stage adjustable active damper, and upgraded seatbelts and brakes.

Among standalone options, 21-inch sport wheels are available for 2 million won, while the electrochromic glass roof has been reduced by 500,000 won to 1 million won.

Ham Jong-seong, CEO of Polestar Korea, said the 2027 Polestar 4 Coupe reflects strong customer interest in high-performance electric vehicles and a preference for premium options, with driving balance and overall product quality further enhanced as a result. "We will continue working to ensure that more customers can experience premium electric vehicles that combine design, performance and sustainability in their everyday lives," he said.

The Polestar 4 Coupe sold 1,979 units in South Korea from January through May this year, cementing its presence in the domestic premium electric vehicle market.
