Students from the makeup department at Daegyeong University in Gyeongsan have demonstrated the school's strength in training K-beauty talent by earning recognition on an international stage in France.
Six makeup students and a faculty adviser traveled to Paris to attend an international professional makeup trade fair as part of the university's "2026 Global Job Competency Enhancement Overseas Training Program," organized by the Office of International Cooperation, the university said Monday.
During the program, second-year student Choi Yu-jin and her teammates competed in The French Bodypainting Award 2026, a flagship event of the fair, and finished in third place.
The result showed that the students' major skills and creative expression are competitive on the international stage.
"Through this overseas training, I was able to experience global beauty trends and the latest makeup techniques firsthand, which helped me develop an international sensibility and professional skills," Choi said. "I will keep working hard to share the excellence of K-beauty with the world."
The students also visited some of Paris's most celebrated cultural landmarks during the program — including the Louvre, the Seine River, Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower — broadening their artistic sensibility and cultural understanding.
Lee Kyong-hee, a professor at Daegyeong University's College of Beauty and head of its admissions office, said the school would continue to expand overseas training and international exchange programs to develop globally competitive professionals who can lead the K-beauty industry.
