The organizing committee for the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships is accepting applications from companies to serve as its official meal service sponsor, tasked with providing safe and hygienic catering for event officials.

According to Daegu city officials Tuesday, the recruitment drive aims to secure high-quality catering services for World Masters Athletics officials, judges and other event personnel.

Eligible applicants are contract food service companies based in the surrounding region — defined as within one hour's drive at legal speed limits — with substantial on-site operational experience and expertise.

Interested companies must submit an application form and proposal along with required supporting documents. Finalists will be selected through a document review and on-site evaluation before being named official sponsors.

Selected companies will receive the right to use the event logo and the official sponsor designation, along with opportunities to promote their brand across various promotional channels.

Applications are open through June 18. Details on how to apply are available on the organizing committee's website and the Daegu city government website. Inquiries can be directed to the organizing committee's marketing team.

"This is a great opportunity to support the successful staging of a global sports festival in Daegu — an international athletics city — and to showcase both Daegu and your company's brand to the world," said Jin Gi-hun, secretary-general of the organizing committee. "We look forward to the active participation of companies with the expertise and capability to contribute."

The 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships, a major festival for recreational athletes aged 35 and older, will be held at Daegu Stadium from Aug. 22 through Sept. 13. More than 11,000 athletes and their families from 90 countries are expected to visit Daegu for the event.
