Comedian Shin Gi-ru has apologized after a fan passed along harsh words overheard on a flight.
Shin recently posted a photo on her social media with the caption, "I'm sorry for disappointing you."
The photo showed a message she had received from a fellow passenger, who said other people seated nearby had talked about her throughout the flight. The passenger summarized their remarks as: "She looks more fragile than she does on screen" and "She's just a fake tough fatty."
Shin replied that she would "redouble her efforts to eat more."
Shin made her debut in 2005 on KBS2's "Poksso Club" and was selected as a special-recruit comedian at SBS in 2007. She married a non-celebrity one year her senior in 2019. She recently signed an exclusive contract with SM C&C and has been active on YouTube and other platforms.
