Korea Maritime and Ocean University announced Friday it will open 14 guesthouse rooms in its on-campus Ara Hall as temporary accommodation for visitors coming to Busan for the BTS World Tour IN Busan concerts on June 12 and 13. The rooms can accommodate up to 27 guests, comprising one single room and 13 double rooms.
The opening is part of Busan's "Fair Lodging Challenge" initiative and is available to domestic visitors at 50,000 won (about $33) per night. The university said it joined the campaign to give tourists a positive and welcoming impression of Busan and to help foster a healthy tourism culture in the region.
The university also said it hopes an overnight stay on its scenic campus — which offers sweeping ocean views — will give visitors a distinctive and memorable experience during their trip to Busan.
"As a national university, we consider it an important responsibility to actively cooperate with the needs of the local community," university President Ryu Dong-geun said. "We will continue to establish ourselves as a university that grows alongside the region, beyond the boundaries of our campus."
