NTS commissioner visits Jungbu regional office, Donganyang Tax Office to inspect operations

National Tax Service Commissioner Lim Gwang-hyeon said Wednesday that the delinquency management corps is "a core project with five-in-one benefits," citing its role in advancing tax justice, securing fiscal revenue, creating productive jobs and identifying welfare recipients.

Lim made the remarks during a visit to the National Tax Delinquency Management Corps at the Jungbu Regional Tax Office the previous day, where he reviewed operations and encouraged field investigators and staff who had delivered strong results. The visit was arranged to assess preparations ahead of the expanded launch of both the national tax and non-tax delinquency management corps planned for July, and to hear directly from field investigators and staff who have been working with the national tax corps since it began operating in March.

Field investigators shared firsthand accounts of their work since March. "We hope the National Tax Delinquency Management Corps activities — which help struggling taxpayers have their payment obligations extinguished and contribute to sound public finances by guiding delinquents on repayment — can continue for a long time," they said.

Lim then visited the Donganyang Tax Office in Anyang to inspect construction progress on an office that will house 22 national tax delinquency management corps members and 34 non-tax revenue delinquency management corps members, as well as available parking facilities.

"Please make every effort to create a comfortable and safe working environment at offices nationwide so that the newly joining fixed-term workers can carry out their duties without inconvenience," Lim said.
