Mirae Asset Group Chairman Park Hyeon-joo used MiraeAsset Rally 2026 to press the case for "killer products" — offerings built around future growth drivers — and to lay out the firm's "Mirae Asset 3.0" vision, a global investment platform strategy combining exchange-traded funds, AI-powered asset management and digital assets.

Mirae Asset Global Investments said Thursday that it held MiraeAsset Rally 2026 in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province, from Monday through Wednesday.

The annual rally brings together key ETF executives from Mirae Asset Global Investments' operations around the world to review the state of the global ETF business and chart its direction.

This year's event carried added significance as the firm's global ETF business has entered a phase of full-scale growth across major markets. Total net assets under management in ETFs worldwide have reached 428 trillion won ($282 billion), placing Mirae Asset 11th globally by ETF net assets and cementing its growing influence in the world ETF market.

Growth at major overseas units has also been strong. Global X US surpassed $100 billion in net assets, establishing itself as a major player in the US ETF market, while the domestic TIGER ETF franchise likewise crossed the $100 billion mark.

Global X Japan crossed 1 trillion yen (about $6.25 billion) in net assets roughly six years after its launch, securing its position as a key player in the Japanese ETF market. Global X Canada has grown to $40 billion and Global X Australia to $13 billion.

The company said the results reflect the concrete payoff of the global vision Park has long championed. He has consistently called on the firm to get ahead of the curve by supplying innovative products that allow investors to tap growth markets beyond their home countries.

He has also repeatedly stressed the importance of identifying differentiated products that reflect investor demand and structural change — what he calls "flagship killer products."

Park returned to that theme at this year's event. "The success or failure of an asset manager ultimately comes down to the products it builds for the future," he said. "A killer product is one that turns structural change — which may still look distant and uncertain — into an investment opportunity that customers can actually put in their portfolios, and that ultimately sets a new standard for the market."

"The successful ETFs we have built were not simply financial products — they were bridges connecting our customers to the future," he added. "Today's results were possible because we spotted structural change before the market fully understood it and turned that conviction into products."

In practice, Mirae Asset has consistently moved ahead of the market to capture structural growth opportunities and launch differentiated ETFs. In Hong Kong, the firm pioneered the local market's first covered-call ETF and continues to lead the income-oriented ETF segment. In the United States and Canada, it was quick to launch space-technology ETFs offering exposure to the aerospace industry, riding anticipation of a SpaceX initial public offering.

Global X US's AI-themed ETF AIQ, launched in 2018, stands as a prime example: it began tracking the growth potential of the AI industry long before ChatGPT brought artificial intelligence into mainstream attention, and has since grown to more than $10 billion in net assets.

The domestic TIGER ETF lineup has also reinforced its lead in the Korean thematic ETF market with the TIGER Semiconductor TOP10 ETF, a concentrated play on South Korea's core semiconductor companies that has grown to roughly 14 trillion won in net assets.

Park also outlined "Mirae Asset 3.0" as the firm's next growth chapter. The strategy calls for integrating the core capabilities Mirae Asset Group has built over more than 30 years — spanning ETFs, AI asset management and digital assets — into a single, advanced global investment platform.

Under the plan, ETFs serve as the core product engine, the securities platform as the primary customer touchpoint, and AI and tokenization as the financial infrastructure of the future, with the goal of giving customers easier and more efficient access to growth opportunities.

Mirae Asset Global Investments' global ETF net assets have been expanding rapidly. After crossing 300 trillion won at the end of last year, assets grew by another 100 trillion won in just five months. The trajectory shows clear acceleration: 200 trillion won at end-2024, 300 trillion won at end-2025, and more than 400 trillion won by May 2026.
