Cancellation linked to family reasons; spy allegations involving Nvidia circle cited as possible factor
'Nvidia AI Day Seoul 2026' to proceed as planned
Madison Huang, a senior director at Nvidia and the eldest daughter of CEO Jensen Huang, has abruptly canceled her planned visit to South Korea, causing all scheduled engagements in the country to fall through — including a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry of Science and ICT Minister Bae Kyung-hoon.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT and industry sources Sunday, Huang, Nvidia's senior director of Omniverse and robotics product marketing, had been scheduled to meet Deputy Prime Minister Bae at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul that day, but the cancellation of her visit rendered the meeting impossible.
A photo session with Kakao Mobility at COEX and a visit to Rebellions' headquarters in Bundang, both planned for Monday, were also called off.
No specific reason for the cancellation was made public, though sources said it was related to a family matter.
Huang had originally planned to travel to South Korea to attend "Nvidia AI Day Seoul 2026" at COEX and to meet with South Korean government officials and business figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Bae.
With her visit canceled, Nvidia Senior Vice President Ashish Karandiker and Senior Vice President Deepu Talla will attend the related events in her place.
The Nvidia AI Day event will proceed as scheduled.
Some observers have suggested that recent foreign media reports alleging that individuals close to Jensen Huang may be linked to Chinese espionage could have played a role in the cancellation.
