A zipline at Mancheonha Skywalk, a popular tourist attraction in Danyang-gun, North Chungcheong Province, stalled mid-ride Saturday, leaving a passenger suspended in midair for about 30 minutes.

According to the Danyang Tourism Corporation and fire department authorities, the zipline carrying one female passenger came to a halt in the air at around 3:20 p.m. Saturday.

The passenger remained suspended for roughly 30 minutes before being rescued by staff from the operating company.

The zipline stretches 980 meters in total, and the passenger had stopped about 30 to 40 meters from the departure point, according to officials.

The Danyang Tourism Corporation, which operates the zipline, is investigating the exact cause of the incident.

Mancheonha Skywalk, which opened in 2017, is one of Danyang-gun's signature tourism facilities, offering a zip wire, an alpine coaster and a water slide, among other attractions. The zip wire uses two fixed steel ropes spanning 980 meters, allowing riders to glide down without any motorized propulsion.
