Gyeongsan city in North Gyeongsang Province signed a rural-urban cooperation agreement with dessert cafe franchise Eupcheonri382 on Friday at the mayor's office in Gyeongsan City Hall, aimed at boosting the added value of local agricultural products and promoting exchanges between urban and rural communities.
Eupcheonri382, which got its start in Jain-myeon, Gyeongsan, will work with the city to develop new menu items using local produce and carry out joint promotional activities to support the regional economy.
The franchise, which sources local agricultural products, operates more than 190 stores nationwide and already sells three beverages made with Gyeongsan jujubes — jujube tea, jujube milk tea and jujube ricano.
Gyeongsan is one of South Korea's leading jujube-producing regions. As of the end of 2024, jujube cultivation in the city covered 433 hectares across 2,057 farms, with annual output reaching 2,330 tons on a dried-jujube basis.
"We expect this rural-urban cooperation with Eupcheonri382 to help invigorate the local economy," Gyeongsan Mayor Jo Hyeon-il said. "We will work to activate retail channels that can bring Gyeongsan's premium jujubes to consumers across the country."
