A National Assembly legislative information center will be established at the North Gyeongsang Province Library, giving residents access to parliamentary resources held by the National Assembly Library without leaving the region.

North Gyeongsang Province and the National Assembly Library signed an MOU on "providing legislative information and mutual cooperation" on Friday at the K-Chang hall of the provincial government building in Andong, with North Gyeongsang Province Governor Lee Cheol-woo and National Assembly Library Director Hwang Jeong-geun among those in attendance.

The National Assembly Legislative Information Center is a dedicated facility that brings parliamentary and legal information produced by the National Assembly Library to local communities.

The center will feature a digital information zone where visitors can access systems such as the National Assembly e-Library, as well as a reading area stocked with publications on policy and legislation.

Residents will be able to search for domestic and international policy trends, legislative information and legal materials at the center.

The province plans to develop the North Gyeongsang Province Library — a regional flagship library located in the Yecheon provincial government new town — into a policy knowledge hub connecting the National Assembly with local communities, and to advance joint projects with the National Assembly Library.

"We will strengthen cooperation with the National Assembly Library so that the North Gyeongsang Province Library can establish itself as the region's premier information service institution, where any resident can conveniently access the knowledge and information they need," Governor Lee said.
