Industrial Bank of Korea has agreed to expand financial and non-financial support for Kosdaq-listed companies in partnership with the Korea Association of Kosdaq Listed Companies.

The bank signed an MOU with the association Friday at its headquarters in Euljiro, Seoul, aimed at revitalizing the Kosdaq market and strengthening the growth foundation of Kosdaq-listed firms.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will work to identify management difficulties and policy needs among Kosdaq companies and broaden both financial and non-financial support. They will also develop joint projects to stimulate market activity. The partnership is expected to create stronger links between the association's on-the-ground intelligence on corporate needs and the bank's funding and management consulting services.

The MOU is part of the IBK Financial Group's Kosdaq Revitalization TF, which launched in February. The task force was established to address information asymmetry in the Kosdaq market and support the sustained growth of small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies.

Through October, the TF recorded about 337.5 billion won ($251 million) in pre-IPO equity investments, mezzanine investments and fund operations. It also published 178 research reports on Kosdaq companies and provided corporate value enhancement consulting and initial public offering support to 114 firms.

"This MOU will serve as an opportunity to connect our Kosdaq support efforts more deeply with the field," Industrial Bank of Korea President Jang Min-young said. "We will work closely with the Korea Association of Kosdaq Listed Companies to improve small and medium-sized enterprises' access to capital markets and do everything we can to invigorate the Kosdaq market."
