The nursing department of Daegu Haany University held a homecoming day at its Innovation Campus on Oct. 23, bringing together alumni and current students to mark the 31st anniversary of the department's founding and the 10th anniversary of its alumni association.
The event featured a campus tour, a report on alumni association activities, updates on the department's development and a commendation plaque ceremony.
Particularly drawing students' attention were special lectures by two alumni — Park Da-young of Yeungnam University Hospital and Lee Ji-eun of Asan Medical Center — who shared their experiences adapting to clinical settings as new nurses and preparing for employment.
A small-group mentoring program called "Talk-to-You" also gave seniors and juniors the chance to exchange information on hospital environments by region, job preparation and clinical adaptation, offering practical career counseling.
Kim Su-yeon, head of the nursing department, said she hoped the alumni's firsthand clinical experiences and advice would help current students map out their career paths. "We will continue to strengthen the department's educational competitiveness and alumni network through ongoing exchanges between graduates and students," Kim said.
Kim Jeong-suk, president of the alumni association, said it was meaningful to have alumni and current students gather in one place to connect. "We will continue exchanges aimed at supporting the growth of our juniors and the advancement of the department, grounded in the bonds among alumni," Kim said.
