Partnership with IGF; simulators to be donated after games
Golfzon has partnered with the International Golf Federation to support a golf experience program at the first Youth Olympics held on the African continent.
The company announced Friday that it has signed a golf simulator technology partnership with the IGF and set up a screen golf experience space at the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympics, currently underway in Senegal.
The Dakar Youth Olympics runs from Oct. 31 through Nov. 13 across the Senegalese cities of Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly. The event — the first Olympic gathering held on the African continent — draws about 2,700 young athletes.
Golf is featured as one of 10 participatory sports at the games, with no medals awarded. Golfzon has installed its TwoVision NX simulators on site, giving young athletes and members of the public a chance to try the sport. Participants swing with real clubs and balls, then see the ball's trajectory and distance displayed on screen.
The golf experience program runs from Nov. 1 through Nov. 13, with a dedicated golf showcase event held Friday. After the games conclude, Golfzon plans to donate the on-site simulators to Senegal to support local golf education and player development.
IGF Secretary General Anthony Scanlon thanked Golfzon for its technical support and donation plans, saying the goal is "to make it easy and welcoming for people who are encountering golf for the first time."
Sean Byun, CEO of Golfzon America, said the company would "share the joy of golf with the people of Dakar and help people of all ages in Senegal experience the sport in a friendly way."
