NH NongHyup Bank has opened a hands-on space where young students can experience AI-powered financial work firsthand.

The bank launched the "AI Finance Center" at the Korea JobWorld youth experience hall on Thursday, beginning a future finance career program for students, it announced Friday.

The program is open to students from fifth grade through high school. Participants use AI to design financial products tailored to a customer's situation and then practice explaining those products to a virtual client.

Students begin by reviewing tablet-based profiles of various financial professions and watching career interview videos, then assess a customer's financial needs. They go on to use AI to plan a customized financial product, verify its suitability for the customer and give it a name.

Based on the product they have created, students also practice customer consultation — conversing with a virtual AI client to explain the product and walk through an advisory session. After the experience, standout participants are recognized as "Best Banker" and presented with an award.

NH NongHyup Bank has provided financial education to youth through its "Haengbok Chaeum Finance Classroom" program since 2012. The AI Finance Center was developed in partnership with Korea JobWorld to give students a more direct experience of future financial work, in step with the growing use of AI and digital technology across the financial industry.

"As AI and digital technology are driving change and innovation in financial services, it is important for the next generation to experience and understand these shifts firsthand," NH NongHyup Bank President Kang Tae-young said. "We hope this experience gives young people an opportunity to explore their dreams and potential as future finance professionals."

Meanwhile, NH NongHyup Bank recently donated 100 million won ($74,600) worth of milk and rice to 12 juvenile protection facilities nationwide in partnership with the Ministry of Justice.
