A nighttime cultural arts festival co-created by about 150 Seoul residents and professional artists will be held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza.

Andromeda Pictures, the event organizer, announced Wednesday that DDP Classic Night will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Eoulrim Plaza of Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul.

The festival is part of a private-sector nighttime activation project supported by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to boost the city's nighttime economy.

Professional artists and citizens will share the stage for a program featuring classical music performances, choral singing, hanbok performances and a citizen runway show, with participants ranging from children to adults.

Performers include tenor Yoo Hyun-wook, baritone Choi Eun-seok and sopranos Jo Hyun-ae and Park Hyun-jin, along with the Verdi Chorus and children's choir Petit Voce Ensemble.

Andromeda Pictures expressed hope that Petit Voce Ensemble would grow into a next-generation children's arts group carrying on the legacy of the Little Angels, which has represented Korea on the world stage for more than half a century.

Founded in 1962, the Little Angels Arts Troupe has showcased the beauty of Korean traditional arts through world tours.

Hanbok designer Baek Geum-ja will take part in the hanbok performance and citizen runway segment, presenting a stage that reinterprets the beauty of traditional Korean dress through a contemporary sensibility, set against the backdrop of DDP's distinctive architecture.

The event will close with a communal chorus in which the cast and audience sing together. The organizers said the moment when professional artists, citizen performers and audience members blend their voices captures the spirit of participation and unity that defines the festival.

Ahn Ju-eun, the festival's artistic director, said DDP Classic Night is "a festival where citizens are not just audience members but the stars of the stage," adding that the organization would support the children of Petit Voce Ensemble — who will perform alongside professional artists — in growing into a children's arts group that brings Korea to the world stage.

The event is organized by Andromeda Pictures and sponsored by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
