Federation honored at large-scale statistical survey merit ceremony

Signed MOU with Ministry of Statistics to boost SME participation

The Korea Federation of SMEs announced Tuesday it received a presidential commendation at the "2026 Large-Scale Statistical Survey Service Merit Award Ceremony" for its contributions to expanding small and medium-sized enterprise participation in the Economic Census.

The federation signed an MOU with the Ministry of Statistics to support the smooth conduct of the 2025 Economic Census and improve economic statistics. It was recognized for subsequently running promotional campaigns to encourage SME participation, raising awareness of the census and fostering a culture of voluntary engagement.

The federation collects opinions from SME operators to support policy development and carries out cooperation activities related to SME surveys, statistics and the advancement of national statistics. Its support for Economic Census participation is part of this broader statistical cooperation effort.

Kim Byung-su, director of the federation's SME Research Institute, said the organization would "continue to actively support the SME sector's participation in national statistical surveys based on close cooperation with the Ministry of Statistics, and contribute to the production of reliable economic statistics and data-driven policy development."
