2026 edition raises bamboo fiber content in inner cover by 10%

Design accounts for baby skin microbiome balance

Packaging uses more than 50% recycled plastic

Yuhan-Kimberly announced Tuesday the launch of the 2026 edition of Huggies Nature Made Bambu, a redesigned diaper featuring improved skin-contact materials and enhanced absorption and leak-prevention performance.

The new product raises the bamboo fiber content in the inner cover by 10 percent compared with the previous version. The inner cover, outer cover, waist band and leg bands incorporate bamboo fiber, sugarcane-derived biomass polyethylene and centella asiatica extract.

The company said the product was designed with the balance of a baby's skin microbiome in mind and has passed Sweden's KIND TO BIOME certification test. The microbiome refers to the ecosystem of microorganisms living on the skin's surface. The inner lining is designed to maintain a mildly acidic environment, and the inner cover carries a lotion containing panthenol and centella asiatica extract.

Absorption performance has also been upgraded. Internal testing by Yuhan-Kimberly showed that, compared with its previous product, the tape-type diaper absorbs liquid 20 percent faster and reduces leakback by 60 percent, while the pants-type absorbs 50 percent faster and cuts leakback by 20 percent. The inner lining features 300 air-absorption holes.

The pants-type diaper uses a "Gender Fit Care" technology that positions the absorbent core differently depending on the baby's sex — toward the front for boys and toward the back for girls. A protective cover has been added to the fastening tape, and the tape-type diaper features front-and-back leak-guard pockets.

More than 50 percent of the packaging material is made from recycled plastic. The product itself uses FSC-certified pulp and naturally derived biomass polyethylene. Yuhan-Kimberly aims to raise the sales share of sustainable products to 95 percent by 2030.

"The 2026 Nature Made Bambu was designed with the baby's natural skin microbiome balance in mind, while also delivering significantly stronger absorption and leak-prevention performance," a Huggies brand representative said.

Meanwhile, Yuhan-Kimberly has donated a cumulative 7.14 million pads of ultra-small diapers for premature infants from July 2017 through September 2026. According to the company, more than 46,800 premature babies have benefited from the program.
