Heonjeong-hoe Chairman Jeong Dae-cheol among those attending Wednesday's luncheon
President Lee Jae Myung will hold a luncheon meeting Wednesday with Jeong Dae-cheol, chairman of the Constitutional Assembly of the Republic of Korea, and other members of the organization.
Cheong Wa Dae announced Monday that Lee "plans to share a meal with the leadership of the Constitutional Assembly and listen to their long experience and wisdom."
The Constitutional Assembly has met with the president on an irregular basis since the era of former President Kim Young-sam, conveying a range of views as senior political figures. Founded in 1968 as a fellowship association of National Assembly members, it is a nonpartisan body of national elders dedicated to upholding the constitution and advancing parliamentary democracy.
At Wednesday's luncheon, Jeong and other members of the group are expected to share their read of recent public sentiment and offer candid counsel. Lee is also expected to seek their advice on a range of current issues.
