Seoul's Gangseo-gu announced Monday it will use a digital billboard to promote local "good-price businesses" — establishments recognized for affordable prices, cleanliness and friendly service.

The district will run customized advertisements free of charge on the electronic display at Hwagok Station on subway Line 5, a high-traffic location chosen for its strong advertising reach. The billboard is at Exit 6 of the station.

Five good-price businesses within the district were selected through a screening process, and the district produced tailored advertisements highlighting each establishment's distinct character.

The ads will air throughout November, running daily from 7 a.m. to midnight in slots of up to 15 seconds each, with roughly 160 exposures per day.

After the November run concludes, the district plans to survey participating business owners on their satisfaction and use the results to review whether to expand the number of beneficiaries and the duration of future support.

The "good-price business" designation goes to model establishments that combine low prices with high standards of hygiene and customer service. Gangseo-gu currently designates 106 such businesses across the food service and beauty industries, providing benefits that include subsidies for necessary supplies and waste disposal bags.

"I hope this free promotion provides real, practical help to small business owners struggling amid the economic slowdown," District Mayor Jin Kyo-hoon said. "We will continue to support good-price businesses without reservation and actively pursue sustainable policies that breathe new life into the local commercial district."
