Delta Air Lines has extended free in-flight Wi-Fi to all Asia-Pacific routes, including transpacific services, completing a free internet network across international flights on six continents. The airline has equipped about 1,300 aircraft with connectivity and will also launch a mobile app featuring an AI concierge with Korean-language support.

Delta announced Monday that it is expanding free in-flight Wi-Fi to the Asia-Pacific region and releasing a Korean-language version of its mobile app to broaden digital services and travel convenience for customers in South Korea. The updated app will also offer an AI-powered "Delta Concierge" inquiry service.

The free in-flight Wi-Fi is provided through US carrier T-Mobile and is available across all transpacific routes connecting the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea, with the United States. After a free SkyMiles membership sign-up, passengers can access the internet, social media and video streaming on personal devices such as smartphones and laptops. Delta currently provides Wi-Fi on about 1,300 aircraft, and the latest expansion means free Wi-Fi is now available across all of the airline's international routes on six continents.

Through Delta Sync, passengers can also access in-flight entertainment including news from major outlets such as The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, as well as movies, drama series and live sports broadcasts.

Delta is also relaunching its Fly Delta mobile app with a full redesign for the South Korean market. The app supports worldwide flight search and booking, along with check-in, mobile boarding passes, real-time flight status, baggage tracking, and flight changes and cancellations. It is available for download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, with a Korean-language version set to follow the existing English version.

SkyMiles members can use the in-app AI chatbot Delta Concierge to handle flight disruption support, reservation cancellations, checked baggage inquiries and eCredits checks. Korean-language support has been added for key inquiries to improve convenience for passengers in South Korea.

Jeff Moomaw, Delta's vice president for the Asia-Pacific region, said free internet is now available on all of the airline's international flights. "We have also upgraded the travel experience for Korean customers through the relaunch of the Fly Delta app and the introduction of Korean-language support for Delta Concierge," Moomaw said.
