Woori Financial Group's Woori Financial Future Foundation announced Monday it is carrying out the "2026 Sharing Briquettes with Love" project, delivering coal briquettes to 525 households in the Greater Seoul area to ease the heating burden on energy-vulnerable families this winter.

The project will supply a total of 105,000 briquettes. Foundation Chairman Lim Jong-ryong and about 40 others visited Jeongeum Village in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, on Friday to take part in a briquette delivery volunteer activity, personally calling on households that use briquettes and delivering 2,000 of them.

One resident who received the briquettes said the sight of a full briquette storage shed gave a sense of reassurance heading into the cold months. "Seeing the storage full makes me feel confident we can get through this winter warmly," the resident said. "I'm grateful to Woori Financial for the great help ahead of the cold season."

Shin Geon-woo, a manager at the Woori Future Foundation, said it was meaningful to work alongside youth aging out of the care system and group employees to deliver warmth to neighbors. "We will continue to practice sharing and mutual growth so that Woori Financial can be a real source of strength for those in need," Shin added.

Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group has disbursed 2.8 trillion won ($2.09 billion) of its 3.5 trillion won inclusive finance supply target for this year, as of the end of September.
