Mapo-gu District Mayor Yoo Dong-kyun visited a series of neighborhood festivals in Mangwon 2-dong, Seongsan 1 and 2-dong, and Yonggang-dong on Saturday, greeting residents and encouraging the organizers who prepared the events.

Yoo first attended the 6th Udangtangtang Mangtu Festa at Mangwon Reservoir Sports Park, joining the opening performance. The festival opened with a children's choir and dance, bringing neighbors together through a mini sports day and food and activity booths.

Yoo then visited the Danpung Sungil Festival in Seongsan 1-dong, held at Seongmisan Samdan Park, and the 19th Seongmegande Village Happiness Sharing Festival in Seongsan 2-dong, held on the grounds of Seoul Sinbuk Elementary School.

The Danpung Sungil Festival added to the autumn atmosphere with a walk through Seongmisan and resident performances, while the Happiness Sharing Festival brought energy to the neighborhood with a cheerful sports competition and various hands-on activities.

Yoo concluded the day at Tojeong Park in Yonggang-dong, where the 4th Yonggang-dong Village Festival — "Tojeong-a Nolja!" — was under way, joining residents for the opening performance. The event featured programs reflecting the neighborhood's character, including fortune-telling based on the Tojeongbigyeol, hanbok photo booths, resident performances and a community sharing market.

"Thanks to the festivals that residents prepared with such care, autumn in Mapo has become all the richer," Yoo said. "I hope everyone spends today laughing and enjoying themselves with family and neighbors, and creates warm memories together."
