Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o attended a donation ceremony Friday at Junggye Culture Park, where Seo encouraged participants and presented a donation at the "Clean Gangwon Province Premium Agricultural and Specialty Products Direct Trade Fair."
The fair was organized to help local producers expand their sales channels and give residents a chance to browse and purchase a variety of regional food products. The three-day event runs through Sunday.
A total of 46 vendors from 14 regions across Gangwon Province took part, showcasing products including Hanwoo beef, wild ginseng, dried vegetable chips, honey, pine nuts, deodeok root, mushrooms, kimchi and fresh fruit. At a noon donation ceremony, 3 million won ($2,250) was presented, adding significance to the occasion.
"I am grateful to everyone who helped create this meaningful occasion for urban and rural communities to thrive together," Seo said. "We will continue to provide full administrative support to sustain active exchange and cooperation between cities and farming regions."
