YouTube channel 'Big Spender Noh Hee-young' highlights importance of proper washing
Persil Disc cleaning power put to test on white luxury shirt
Persil, South Korea's top-selling laundry detergent brand, said Friday it has released branded content in collaboration with the YouTube channel "Big Spender Noh Hee-young" to showcase the cleaning performance of its new Persil Disc capsule detergent.
The content was developed around the channel's reputation for exacting standards in luxury goods care, with the goal of conveying that proper washing and maintenance matter more than the purchase price of clothing.
In the video, "Big Spender Noh Hee-young" shares tips on caring for luxury items by category — bags, coats, shirts and shoes. The channel notes that white garments turn yellow due to everyday skin residue such as sweat and sebum, and said consumers should manage their clothes carefully to prevent ultrafine stains from building up deep within fabric fibers and leading to discoloration and odor.
The video then introduces the new Persil Disc capsule detergent. The product applies Persil's proprietary "Power Micro Enzyme" technology to remove ultrafine stains embedded in fabric. "Big Spender Noh Hee-young" also referenced Henkel's 150-year heritage and entrepreneurial spirit, expressing confidence in the company's long-accumulated technological expertise and quality.
"Big Spender Noh Hee-young" also washed a white shirt on camera to demonstrate the cleaning power of Persil Disc firsthand. Using microscope-based test data, the video explained how the Power Micro Enzyme works to remove contaminants invisible to the naked eye from deep within fabric fibers.
Persil Disc packs the same powerful cleaning performance as Persil's liquid detergent into a single capsule. A highly concentrated formula allows for a smaller capsule size while maintaining a maximum wash capacity of 7 kilograms per capsule. The product also reduces carbon dioxide emissions and capsule film usage, and cuts plastic packaging by up to 31 percent for the 26-count product.
"The key to preserving the value of clothing over time ultimately lies in washing, and we wanted to make a compelling case that cleaning power — not just convenience — is the essence of capsule detergent," a Persil official said. "We will continue efforts to communicate Persil's technological strengths and product competitiveness across a wide range of consumer touchpoints."
Meanwhile, Henkel, which marks its 150th anniversary this year, continues to pursue research and development and technological innovation in the spirit of founder Fritz Henkel. Through Persil and other lifestyle brands including Pril and Bref, the company is delivering innovative solutions to make consumers' everyday lives more convenient and sustainable.
