Choi Bool-am (born Choi Young-han), the actor beloved by generations of Koreans as the "nation's father," has died at 87.
Choi died at around 10 p.m. Thursday at a hospital in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, while receiving inpatient treatment, broadcasting industry sources said.
Choi had undergone back disc surgery in March last year, after which mobility declined significantly, leading to a departure from "Hansik Table of Koreans," a KBS 1TV current affairs and culture program Choi had hosted for 14 years.
